Job Description Open VisaNet (OVN), is the Next Generation VisaNet. OVN will use best-in-class technology components to push the envelope as a highly scalable, secure, cost-effective and distributed application on commodity hardware. Open VisaNet (OVN) is one of Visa's key initiatives which will help Visa support in‑country and global processing solutions while providing Visa an opportunity to move away from proprietary hardware systems. Realizing the vision of OVN requires the collaboration of an exceptional group of software engineers, security specialists, DevOps engineers, payment experts, infrastructure architects and business analysts. To support our development roadmap, we require an excellent systems analyst to support in the creation and delivery of business requirements which articulate the current VisaNet business logic, both functional and non‑functional. This role will be accountable for generation and publication of business requirements for more than 330 discrete services and functions.
Essential Functions:
- Reverse engineer existing business logic from current production systems to define and document detailed functional and non-functional (performance and operational) requirements for OVN.
- Provide business and technical guidance within the Knowledge Extraction team, including mentoring team members, reviewing work products, and applying GenAI‑enabled approaches to accelerate understanding of complex legacy systems.
- Act as an application technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for existing systems, providing deep domain knowledge to support knowledge extraction, requirements definition, and decision‑making.
- Work closely with Product Owners to provide detailed analysis, support decision‑making, document requirements, and coach development teams on Visa switching, clearing, and settlement processing in relation to OVN.
- Design, develop, or contribute to GenAI‑based tools (e.g., knowledge extraction assistants, requirements analysis copilots, documentation aides, etc.) that support OVN delivery.
- Apply prompt engineering and model‑interaction techniques to improve the accuracy, consistency, and explainability of GenAI outputs used for requirements, analysis, and documentation.
- Partner with Architecture and Development teams to refine and maintain templates and standards for both traditional requirements artifacts and AI‑assisted artifacts.
- Work with vendors to support the Knowledge Extraction process, including evaluation and integration of AI‑based solutions where appropriate.
- Collaborate with Architects and Development teams to ensure requirements are accurate, complete, interpretable, and suitable for both human and GenAI‑assisted consumption.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team on creation of testing artifacts.
- Support in managing the lifecycle of requirement artifacts to elaborate requirements of OVN as needed.
- Consult regularly with leadership to align expectations, prioritize deliverables, and identify opportunities.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
- Relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable about Payments systems or applications is essential.
- Experience of working on payment business and products and services provided by VisaNet is desirable.
- Development experience in C++ is essential.
- Knowledge of Assembler is desirable.
- Experience of working on IBM zTPF.
- 3+ years of experience in leading technical teams.
- Experience with producing high quality requirements, documentation, and user stories.
- Team player with broad experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts, System architects and Lead software engineers.
- Hands‑on experience with Generative AI concepts, including Prompt engineering and prompt optimization, working knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and GenAI platforms, applying GenAI to knowledge extraction, analysis, summarization, and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to design or contribute to GenAI‑enabled tools used by engineering or analysis teams.
- Understanding of responsible AI principles, including accuracy, bias, explainability, and security considerations.
- Strong interest in continuously upskilling in AI‑assisted software engineering and analysis techniques.
- Ability to work with multicultural teams across the globe.
- Ability to work across time zones as required.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction.
- Strong customer service, analytical, research, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
