We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Model Maker to be able to assist in the preparation of 3D-printed parts and with test organisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with Model Makers, Model Design, Mechanical Design, Aerodynamics, and the Additive Manufacturing team, contributing to the preparation and delivery of high-quality components for wind tunnel testing. RESPONSIBILITIES Areas that play to your strengths All the responsibilities we’ll trust you with: Expand all Model Making Work with the Team Leaders & Modelmakers in conjunction with design and Aerodynamicist to develop our wind tunnel models and and testing program. Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the Aero department. This role specifically requires evening & weekend cover on a rota and on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the aero testing programme. Communicate effectively with all groups within the Aero department. Execute the day-to-day tasks, providing support to model shop activities and wind tunnel working. Manage time effectively in conjunction with the needs of the department. Professionalism Maintain and develop good relationships with all existing staff and support colleagues. Work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors. Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role. Provide cover for logistics / driving duties where these cannot be support by the Production & Logistics team. Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment would be desirable.
- Good craft skills and attention to detail.
- UK driving license for manual vehicles up to 3500kg.
- Flexibility to work on shifts.
- Ability to scope all tasks thoroughly, identify issues and discuss concerns and necessary actions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work professionally and competently with colleagues and team overall.
