Visa is seeking a Senior Director, Account Executive to lead the strategic partnership and commercial growth agenda for one of Visa’s largest European financial institution clients, across the Corporate Banking and Small & Medium Business (SMB) segments. This role is responsible for setting the vision, developing and executing strategic account plans, and driving revenue growth for the client across Visa’s Large-Mid Market Corporate payments and SMB Payments products and services, including commercial cards, money movement and value‑added solutions. The Senior Director operates as the central owner of Visa’s relationship with the client’s Corporate Bank and Business Bank stakeholders, and partners closely with internal teams across product, sales, consulting, marketing, legal, finance, and operations to deliver sustained, long‑term value. This is a complex leadership role requiring strong executive presence, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes across a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Visa’s strategic partnership for Corporate and SMB payments for this key client, acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Set the vision and develop customized, multi‑year account plans to grow revenue, expand solution adoption, and strengthen long‑term client partnership value.
  • Identify, prioritize, and close complex sales opportunities across Corporate and SMB payments, including solution positioning, commercial structuring, negotiation, governance and execution.
  • Customer‑centric mindset, working closely with cross‑functional teams such as product, finance, legal, compliance, consulting, marketing and client services to deliver integrated client outcomes.
  • Lead a small team of Account Managers, who support the client account in the Corporate and SMB space.
  • Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and prioritisation to ensure strong sales conversion and revenue realisation.
  • Deliver thought leadership on payment market trends, emerging use cases, and regulatory or ecosystem developments relevant to Corporate and SMB segments aligned to the client’s strategy.
  • Take accountability for prioritization across competing initiatives, ensuring resources are aligned to the highest‑impact growth opportunities.
  • Act as a role model for Visa leadership principles and contribute to talent development through mentoring, coaching, and sponsorship within the broader account team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience managing large, complex enterprise or financial institution clients, ideally within payments, financial services, or related technology ecosystems.
  • Proven track record in enterprise sales, account management, or business development, including ownership of complex, multi‑stakeholder commercial engagements.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with demonstrated ability to drive growth through strategic partnerships and influence outcomes in a highly matrixed organisation.
  • Acts as an owner and connector, driving results through influence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Brings a strategic, growth‑oriented mindset while maintaining strong execution discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior‑level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in prioritization and decision‑making in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Communicates with clarity, confidence, and credibility across a wide range of audiences.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the payments or financial services industry, with exposure to commercial B2B payments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic, multi‑year client initiatives that drive revenue growth and portfolio expansion.
  • Understanding of how the payments ecosystem is evolving and how clients derive value from network‑based payment solutions.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data and insights into clear, compelling executive‑level narratives.
