The Research Analyst, Strategic Regulatory Expansion will play a key role in building Visa's research and insights capabilities, focusing on real-time payments systems and cross-border payment flows. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Regulatory Expansion, the candidate will help advance Visa’s global license and network expansion ambitions.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the team’s internal research capabilities, centralising knowledge and insight support. They will undertake targeted desk research and analysis of the global payments and regulatory environment to assist internal teams in assessing opportunities and requirements for ongoing market expansion.
The role includes:
- Conducting focused research projects, analysing payments system rules, supporting go-live activities, and acting as a point of contact for key product, operations, technology, and treasury teams.
- Developing research assets such as competitor profiles and a regular market intelligence newsletter.
- Monitoring market developments, maintaining a central repository of regulatory information, and participating in strategic initiatives forums.
- Contributing to the development of ongoing and ad-hoc research projects, including scoping research proposals relating to growth projects, gathering and analysing data, and delivery of research to agreed targets.
- Analysing and providing clarity on payments system rules to identify market expansion opportunities and challenges, as well as supporting crucial go-live activities.
- Serving as a point of contact for Visa Direct Product, Operations, Technology and Treasury to assist with research support, particularly in relation to global payment scheme analysis.
- Monitoring and analysing market and competitor developments to identify trends, threats and opportunities for growth.
- Contributing to the creation of a central repository/database of market and regulatory information to support ongoing strategic development and market expansion initiatives.
- Assisting on the Strategic Initiatives horizon scanning forum detailing key regulatory and market updates which are key for expansion decision making.
- Assisting in project management of Regulatory and Market Examinations for growth initiatives.
- Establishing yourself as an important subject matter expert.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
