Job Description What is it all about? Reporting to the Head of Commercial Development, Strategy and Commercial Operations, UK & Ireland, this role provides commercial leadership for market investment funds across the cluster. The Director is accountable for shaping and evolving the UK & Ireland strategy for investment funds, translating strategic priorities into tangible business plans, and orchestrating cross‑functional teams to drive rigorous execution against growth, revenue diversification and scorecard objectives for the relevant funds. The immediate priority for this role will be to unlocking our next wave of significant B2B growth by increasing card acceptance in the commercial payments ecosystem. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and partners closely with the GCM and Ireland country manager, account teams and functional teams across UK & Ireland and Europe.
What We Expect Of You, Day By Day:
- Shape, translate and execute Innovation and Market Development funding and wider investment funds strategy at a UK & Ireland level through a cohesive, integrated and data‑led approach across the short, medium and long term to drive sustained revenue growth, client relevance and business performance.
- Partner with cluster, regional and functional stakeholders to develop commercial priorities and execution plans that align near‑term delivery with longer‑term growth ambitions.
- Orchestrate cross‑functional teams to deliver fund objectives and milestones to plan.
- Develop insight‑led strategic recommendations and thought leadership to help identify new opportunities, respond to market dynamics and support the continued growth of the UK & Ireland business.
- Work with account teams, functional teams and specialised sales teams to develop joined‑up client and cluster plans aligned to strategic priorities and commercial objectives.
- Work with Account teams and their clients to shape their own investments in complementary activities, amplifying the benefit those clients see from Visa investment funds.
- Provide ad‑hoc leadership support, operating as a trusted partner across the broader UK & Ireland leadership agenda.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications What we’re after… We are looking for an individual who brings strategic depth, strong commercial instinct and a genuine curiosity about the payments landscape. As a candidate you should have:
- Significant experience in strategy, commercial operations, business planning, consulting or a related field, with a strong track record of leading strategic initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong academic background, preferably in business, economics, finance or a related field; an advanced degree may be advantageous.
- Outstanding analytical and problem‑solving capability, with the ability to assess complex business issues, structure hypotheses, generate insight and translate analysis into clear recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesise complex issues into clear narratives and influence stakeholders up to executive level in a matrixed environment.
