We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Cuisine Assistant Chef to join our professional kitchen team. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in delivering authentic, high-quality Indian dishes with consistency, precision, and attention to detail. This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and a desire to work in a refined, high-standard kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, and regional specialties
- Support mise en place and ensure all ingredients are prepared to required standards
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Operate kitchen equipment including tandoor ovens safely and efficiently
- Follow recipes and guidance from senior chefs while contributing to menu development
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Assist in stock rotation, storage, and inventory management
- Work collaboratively within the kitchen team during busy service periods
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian Curry/Tandoor or similar role (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Maintaining strict hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
