This Senior Manager role plays a critical part in setting, shaping and tracking the c USD billion annual expenses budget and headcount plan for the Europe region to support Visa’s objectives and growth strategy. They will act as a Senior Business Partner for Corporate functions, including Legal and Government Engagement (GE), and ‘own’ the Professional Fees General Ledger line. In addition, the jobholder will have project work relating to sourcing savings, investment frameworks, VAT modelling and developing data tools. They will work closely with senior stakeholders and finance teams in Europe sub-regions, and Global colleagues across the business. The role sits in the Visa Europe’s Financial Planning & Analysis team.
Responsibilities include:
- Business Partnering: Partner with the Leadership Teams of a number of Corporate Functions in Europe – including Legal and GE – to drive strategic financial planning and decision-making, ensuring alignment with Visa’s business objectives, and clear accountability for spend and intended business outcomes. Maximise value achieved by driving commercial thinking across the function and influence outcomes by providing challenge and support, ensuring decisions are commercially sound and in the best interests of VISA and our clients. Provide insights and effective Decision Support on key performance metrics, investment proposals and opportunities for strategic initiatives by executing the necessary analysis, business case modelling and forecasting. Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders within Client Services, and with Europe and Global FP&A colleagues.
- Budget and Forecast: Lead the preparation of an annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts for Corporate Functions, including Legal and GE. These functions account for a large share of the total professional fees budget. Review the overall pro fees budget, identify opportunities for savings, including with Sourcing colleagues, and support investment proposals and evaluations. Build and maintain forecasts of VAT across all areas of activity (opex, incentives and inter-company), working closely with the Tax team.
- Tools & Processes: Become an expert in Hyperion and lead the development and rollout of tools to finance business partners that yield standardisation and efficiency benefits. Provide Corporate Function team managers with simple and effective tools to enable them to manage to budget.
This role will report to the Senior Director, Europe FP&A in a team of ten. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- Business Partnering experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to build and cultivate effective relationships with senior executives and stakeholders within the business and the Finance function at a regional and global level.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, and the ability to interpret trends, identify issues and recommend actions.
- Very strong Excel skills and the ability and confidence to manage large data sets.
- Data visualisation (PowerBI) and Finance systems (Hyperion) knowledge are highly desirable and data analytics experience is desirable.
- Proven self-starter, pro-active and hands-on in their approach to all activities, with a track record of delivering to deadlines.
- Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with appetite to coach and train others, within the team and among the FBP community.
- Commercial focus, with a record of analysing business performance, identifying trends and issues, and challenging the norm.
- Broad understanding of the payment landscape and VISA products and solutions is desirable.
