Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team is one of two Red Bull-owned F1 teams. Today’s Formula 1 calls for a high level of specialist skills in every area. We are looking for an experienced Weekend Model Maker to be responsible for assembly of the models, preparing parts and assemblies in line with our Aerodynamic program, to enhance the development of our F1 race car and liaising with other Modelmakers, Model design, Mechanical design, Aerodynamicist plus the Additive Manufacturing team to provide parts for wind tunnel testing. They will work both at our wind tunnel facility located in Bedford and in our UK HQ in Milton Keynes, working alongside members of the model shop team and under the instruction of the duty Aerodynamicist, and will also encompass working on shift patterns, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to meet the demanding and dynamic needs of our F1 program.
Model Making
- Work with the model shop staff and Aero department, to develop our wind tunnel model and testing program;
- Investigate new technologies and concepts for parts and procedures;
- Create and maintain a positive and cohesive work environment, to promote growth and progression;
- Communicate effectively with external groups such as other sections of the department to ensure that parts are tested on time to the highest quality;
- Execute the day-to-day tasks, providing a ‘can do attitude’, to all tasks set with a strong eye for detail;
- Manage timelines effectively, to ensure timely delivery of high-class models and parts for our dynamic test program.
Professionalism
- Maintain and develop good relationships with all existing staff and support colleagues;
- Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role;
- Work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department/team/sponsors.

Experience
- Previous Automotive experience would be excellent; preferably with engineering experience, and within F1 ideally;
- Strong, broad understanding of high-quality part manufacture and model assembly techniques, including an appreciation of mechanical systems;
- Flexibility to work weekends and adjust to fluctuating demands and schedules as required by project timelines;
- Flexibility to work on shifts;
- Ability to scope all tasks thoroughly with little assistance;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Ensure ability to scope complete tasks within a strict timescale;
- Provide a willing attitude to help us to succeed and improve processes, where possible;
- Delivers timely information, reporting and delivering to deadlines set on the job list, and keeping on top of work related communications;
