VIS Systems Ltd are the UK’s leading site monitoring company, specialising in a range of integrated imaging technologies. We are currently recruiting SC-Cleared Security Guards to join our team working at a secure Ministry of Defence (MOD) site in Manchester.

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of security across a sensitive and controlled environment. You will carry out general security duties, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, visitors, buildings and designated areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced security professionals who hold valid SC Clearance and are looking to work within a secure government environment.

Site: Secure MOD Facility

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts | Days & Nights
Hours: 48–60 hours per week
Shift Times: 06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00
Licence: SIA Security Licence – Mandatory
Clearance: Valid SC Clearance – Mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular internal and external patrols of sensitive and restricted areas.

• Monitor and maintain the security of designated areas and facilities.
• Validate and check visitor credentials and access permissions.
• Escort authorised visitors and contractors to their designated locations.
• Control and monitor access to secure areas.
• Maintain accurate security records, logs and incident reports.
• Respond appropriately to security incidents, alarms and emergencies.
• Challenge and report any suspicious or unauthorised activity.
• Follow all site security procedures, policies and client instructions.
• Provide a professional and courteous security presence at all times.

Work closely with site management and other security personnel to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Essential specifications:

• Valid SIA Security Guarding, or Door Supervisor Licence – mandatory.
• Current SC Clearance – mandatory.
• Candidates must be able to provide proof of their SC Clearance.
• Previous experience within security, guarding or a similarly controlled environment is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and approach.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow strict security procedures and instructions.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Flexibility to work both day and night shifts.

Shift Pattern

The position operates on a Monday–Sunday basis, with both day and night shifts available.

Day Shift: 06:00–18:00

Night Shift: 18:00–06:00

Working Hours: Approximately 48–60 hours per week

12‑hour shifts

Candidates must be comfortable working weekends, nights and public holidays as required by the site rota.
