Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions,
Service Bus, AKS), Azure DevOps
Role Purpose
The Team Lead for Corporate Banking Digital will direct and inspire an enterprise engineering
group of roughly 60 team members spanning South Africa, the United Kingdom, and India. This

organization of ~60 professionals across multiple time zones (India, South Africa, UK),
aligning squad deliverables with overarching program objectives.
β Technical Quality & Standards: Enforce software craftsmanship, code review policies,
security standards, automated testing baselines, and CI/CD quality gates across .NET
Core and Azure microservices.
β Architecture & Delivery Synergy: Work hand-in-hand with Solution Architects and
Delivery Leads to translate functional channel designs into resilient, scalable, and secure
microservices.
β Operational & Resource Optimization: Manage team capacity, sprint velocity, and
resource distribution across squads to prevent bottlenecks and ensure balanced workload
allocation.
β Escalation & Critical Problem Solving: Act as senior escalation point for technical risks,
non-functional blockers (latency, concurrency, high availability), and platform reliability
issues.
Required Skills & Experience
β Scale of Leadership: Proven track record leading distributed digital engineering
organizations of 50+ members across multi-geographic delivery centers.
β Domain Background: Mandatory digital banking channel experience (commercial
portals, corporate internet banking, cash management interfaces); Corporate Banking
background strongly preferred.
β Technical Stack Mastery:
β Deep backend competency in C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, REST/gRPC API
architectures, and Entity Framework Core.
β Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure PaaS (Azure App Service, Azure Functions,
Azure Service Bus, Key Vault, API Management, Azure SQL).
β Comprehensive understanding of modern front-end frameworks (Angular 14+ or
React) and state management in enterprise portals.
β DevSecOps & Delivery Tooling: Hands-on mastery of Azure DevOps, Git flow, CI/CD
pipeline automation, containerization (Docker, AKS), and infrastructure monitoring
(Application Insights).

consolidating progress updates across all payment squad feature teams. Provide unified
status reports to Corporate Banking leadership covering delivery milestones, velocity,
release readouts, and cross-project impacts.
β Dependency & Impediment Management: Proactively identify, track, and unblock
feature stream dependencies across platform architecture, regulatory compliance,
information security, and enterprise infrastructure.
β RAID Governance: Maintain and actively manage an exhaustive Risks, Assumptions,
Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) log. Conduct risk mitigation planning with technical
leads and product owners.
β Technical Alignment: Engage effectively with engineering teams working in modern
.NET and Azure environments to validate delivery schedules, verify release definitions,
and evaluate technical debt impact.
β Multi-Vendor Alignment: Facilitate close collaboration between client internal teams and
delivery partner resources (Virtusa and Valentia Partners), ensuring cohesive sprint
cadence and accountability.
Required Skills & Experience
β Payments Domain Expertise: Substantial track record delivering payment solutions
within commercial/corporate banking environments. Deep familiarity with payment
processing lifecycles, clearing channels (CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments, SEPA), and
messaging standards (ISO 20022, MT/MX).
β Technical Literacy: Strong architectural understanding of enterprise .NET technologies
(C#, ASP.NET Core) and Microsoft Azure cloud integration services (Azure Service Bus,
Azure API Management, Azure SQL, AKS) to evaluate feasibility and lead blocker
resolution.
β Delivery Methodologies: Deep practical experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe), Scrum-of-
Scrums, and Kanban frameworks in complex enterprise delivery environments.
β Executive Communication: Superior presentation, communication, and executive
stakeholder negotiation abilities with the credibility to challenge assumptions and drive
