About The Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Learning Support Assessor to join our Additional Learning Support team. In this specialist role, you will:
- Conduct specialist teacher assessments, particularly for students with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.
- Deliver one-to-one and group support sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with teaching teams and external agencies to ensure effective support strategies are in place.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with JCQ standards for exam access arrangements.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and play an active role in safeguarding students with additional learning needs.

About The Person
You are a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with:
- Experience supporting students with specific learning difficulties in post-16 education, including conducting exam access arrangement assessments.
- Qualifications including a Level 7 qualification in specialist teaching and assessment for specific learning difficulties (SpLD).
- Skills in adapting teaching materials, maintaining detailed records, and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Attributes such as empathy, flexibility, and a strong commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.

About The College
We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more than one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.
