Role & Responsibilities
Studio Vision & Strategy
- Develop and implement a strategic vision and long-term plan for the studio, aligning with Virtuos Group's overall strategy and goals. Ambition is to position Shanghai studio as a regional platform for Virtuos’ AAA and co-dev ambitions.
- Continuously monitor market trends and industry dynamics, adjusting the studio's strategic direction to ensure its competitiveness in the market.
Build & Engage Strong Teams. Fostering Our Values.
- Build a high-performing leadership team (EP, Head of Game, Design Director) to drive project quality and accountability.
- Secure and empower top talent across engineering, design, and art to serve as the foundation of studio growth.
- Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, accountability, delivery-focus, and collaboration, aligned with Virtuos values.
- Identify and elevate internal talent. Invest in upskilling to meet evolving project needs.
- Reinforce collaboration and morale within and across teams.
Deliver & grow profitably
- Implement 2025 China objectives at studio level: competitiveness, margin, quality, and client impact.
- Restore financial performance through improved project delivery, optimized staffing, and disciplined operations.
- Improve proposal quality and execution to win and deliver higher-value co-dev, porting, and remake projects that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Secure repeat business and scale-up from existing anchor clients.
- Actively engage in business development activities, collaborating with the Business
- Development team to secure new projects and clients. Represent the studio in client communications and negotiations, showcasing the studio's capabilities and advantages to win project opportunities.
- Ensure scalable, sustainable growth aligned with group margin targets.
Drive Transformation and Innovation in the Studio
- Drive innovation and transformation within the studio, exploring new game development models, technologies, and processes to enhance competitiveness.
- Encourage and support team innovation, fostering a culture of creativity and openness to new ideas.
- Promote the adoption of emerging technologies and trends in game development to keep the studio at the forefront of the industry.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in a senior leadership role, turning around or transforming a game development studio or game service provider.
- Experience delivering high-quality games for console/PC. Deep knowledge of development processes, technologies, market trends, and player preferences.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills. Experience leading China or Asian teams, serving global clients.
- Working experience in China and Mandarin is a plus
