This Smart Buildings Engineer position is a fully remote, UK-based opportunity offering a salary of up to £75,000 plus benefits.

The role is with a leading smart buildings and engineering services provider, supporting a portfolio of high-profile commercial and critical environments.

The position would suit an experienced BMS, Controls or Smart Buildings Engineer looking to work with modern building automation and smart building technologies.

The successful candidate will remotely monitor and manage BMS systems, diagnose faults and alarms, analyse system data and trends, and provide technical support to site-based engineering teams and customers.

The role also involves optimising HVAC controls, supporting BMS upgrades and integrations, and working with smart building, Io T and energy management technologies.

Experience with platforms such as Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens, Schneider, Trend or Tridium Niagara would be advantageous.

Diagnosing and resolving BMS faults, alarms and performance issues remotely.

Analysing BMS data, trends and system performance to identify potential issues and opportunities for optimisation.

Providing remote technical support and guidance to site-based engineering and facilities teams.

Optimising HVAC control strategies to improve building efficiency, comfort and energy performance.

Investigating recurring faults and carrying out root-cause analysis to prevent future issues.

Supporting the integration of BMS platforms with wider smart building, Io T and energy management systems .

Assisting with BMS upgrades, software modifications, graphics changes and controls development.

Monitoring BMS networks, communications and system connectivity, troubleshooting issues where required.

Supporting commissioning and handover activities remotely.

Producing technical reports, system performance reviews and maintenance documentation.

Working closely with customers and technical stakeholders to ensure service levels and performance targets are consistently achieved.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of smart building technologies, processes and remote monitoring capabilities.

What We're Looking For Previous experience working with BMS / Building Automation Systems in a service, maintenance, controls or engineering capacity.

Strong understanding of BMS controls, HVAC systems and building services.

Experience with platforms such as Johnson Controls Metasys , Siemens, Schneider, Trend, Tridium Niagara or similar would be advantageous.

Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and analytical skills.

Experience interpreting BMS trends, alarms, graphics, schedules and control strategies.

Good understanding of HVAC systems and their interaction with BMS platforms .

Knowledge of smart building technologies, Io T, analytics or energy management would be highly beneficial.

Good understanding of IT infrastructure, TCP/IP networking and BMS communications protocols .

Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders remotely.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and engineering documentation.

A strong focus on customer service, safety and continuous improvement.

Experience within commercial buildings, facilities management or critical environments would be beneficial.
