Senior Software Engineer

A leading global energy trading business is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to build and own data platforms at the heart of a data driven energy trading operation. You will take ownership of features from concept to production, solving complex distributed systems and high volume data engineering problems at scale.

What You Will Do:

• Design scalable APIs and high performance data services handling real time market data streams and high volume ingestion pipelines
• Optimise data layers and query performance across relational and non relational databases including SQL Server, ClickHouse, and PostgreSQL
• Deploy, scale, and maintain distributed backend systems containerised via Docker and orchestrated within Kubernetes environments
• Mentor other developers, contribute to architectural direction, and influence the overall platform strategy
• Implement modern engineering practices including test automation, observability, logging, and CI/CD pipelines

What We Are Looking For:

• Senior Engineering Experience: Expert level C# and .NET with several years of commercial experience building data intensive systems
• System Design Expertise: Solid understanding of event driven architecture, data modelling, and distributed systems design
• Data Engineering Background: Experience with high volume ingestion, low latency streaming, or real time data platforms
