A leading global financial services firm is seeking a Senior Product Designer who will define and drive the design vision across a multi-platform product portfolio, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality user experience. They will translate complex financial and trading requirements into intuitive user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and visually refined interfaces, collaborating closely with product, engineering, data, and compliance teams to align solutions with business, technical, and regulatory needs.
The role includes maintaining and evolving a robust design system, overseeing user research, and using insights and analytics to inform continuous improvement. They will improve the end-to-end design lifecycle for new and existing products, define and track design-related KPIs, and champion user-centred design and accessibility to ensure all solutions balance usability, business goals, and technical or regulatory constraints.
This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple projects, giving you high visibility and meaningful interaction with senior stakeholders. You’ll enjoy a blend of core product design responsibilities alongside more advanced, forward-looking AI initiatives, allowing you to stretch both your creativity and problem-solving skills. With significant scope to influence and modernise legacy platforms, you’ll play a key part in shaping the future design culture and improving how users interact with critical systems. All of this sits within a supportive, collaborative team that values continuous improvement and encourages designers to bring fresh ideas to the table.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve end-to-end product design across a varied portfolio of projects, from discovery through to delivery, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders and users to gather requirements, conduct UX research, and identify opportunities for improvement across multiple platforms.
- Translate financial and operational requirements into clear, intuitive experiences including standard data-heavy interfaces such as tables, dashboards, and charts, as well as more complex AI-related design work.
- Maintain and evolve the organisation’s Figma-based design system, ensuring consistency across products and aligning with best practices.
- Advocate for modern design thinking while working within the context of older, legacy systems, helping steer transformation and influence ways of working.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, user-focused, and aligned with business goals.
- Document and present design decisions clearly through detailed case studies that outline the full lifecycle of your projects, including impact, implementation, and measurable outcomes.
Essential Experience:
- Strong background as a Product Designer within financial services, such as banking, brokerage, trading, or capital markets.
- Proven experience working on design systems, ideally with Figma, including components, tokens, and scaling patterns.
- A solid understanding of financial concepts, data-heavy interfaces, and user needs in regulated environments.
- Confidence creating both UX and UI, with UX typically being the stronger area.
- Experience designing websites, portals, intranets, or internal tools.
- Demonstrable ability to run UX research sessions, gather insights from senior stakeholders, and translate findings into meaningful design improvements.
Portfolio Requirements:
- Candidates must provide their own website portfolio.
- The portfolio should showcase full project journeys, detailing the problem, process, decision-making, stakeholder input, and the measurable impact of your work.
- Work should include both UX and UI examples, with a clear explanation of your direct contribution.
