Salesforce Functional Architect - Energy Trading | Greenfield Salesforce Transformation | £600/Day Inside IR35 | 12 Month Contract | Hybrid
Salesforce functional architect is needed for a leading
Energy & Commodities Trading firm that is embarking on an exciting Salesforce transformation — and they’re looking for a
Salesforce Functional Architect to help shape what the platform becomes.
This is an opportunity for someone who has built their career on the engineering and technical side of Salesforce , but is now looking to move closer to the business: understanding what users actually need, challenging requirements, identifying gaps in the platform, and shaping Salesforce into a product that genuinely supports the organisation.
The Salesforce rollout is still in its embryonic, greenfield stage , meaning there is a huge amount of scope to influence the architecture, functionality, roadmap and ultimately the way the business uses Salesforce.
This Salesforce Architect role isn't a role where you're inheriting a mature Salesforce estate with years of legacy decisions, established processes and a roadmap that's already been defined.
One day you could be working with senior stakeholders to understand a business requirement; the next you might be deep-diving into Salesforce functionality with an engineering team; another day you could be helping solve a much smaller operational issue.
No job is too big or too small.
- This Salesforce functional architect is paying £600/Day Inside IR35

- 3 days per week in the office
The Role
You’ll sit at the intersection of
Salesforce technology and business requirements .
Rather than simply taking requirements and turning them into Salesforce configurations, you’ll be expected to understand the underlying business problem and determine how Salesforce can best solve it.
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, engineers, product teams and Salesforce specialists to:
- Understand business processes, pain points and requirements.
- Translate business needs into practical Salesforce solutions.
- Assess Salesforce's capabilities and identify where the platform can meet requirements — and where it cannot.
- Identify functional gaps and work with technical teams to determine how they should be addressed.
- Challenge requirements where appropriate rather than simply accepting them at face value.
- Help shape the Salesforce roadmap and future-state vision.
- Define functional architecture and solution approaches.
- Work closely with Salesforce engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with the wider platform strategy.
- Help establish best practices, governance and standards as the Salesforce estate develops.
- Support the rollout from an early-stage implementation through to a mature enterprise platform.
- Salesforce certifications such as
Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer, Platform App Builder or Application/System Architect would be advantageous, but we're particularly interested in what you have actually delivered and how you think , rather than simply the certifications you hold.
