QA Test Engineer (Python Testing) – Manual & Automation | Cross Asset Trading House | £100,000 + Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid LDN
A QA Test Engineer with strong experience in Python testing is needed for a leading Cross Asset Trading House based in London City . This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the QA team in a dynamic environment where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the firm’s trading platforms and systems. You will be involved in both manual and automated testing, ensuring business requirements are met and preventing regression.
Given the Cross Asset nature of the work, prior experience in financial services, particularly within the Front Office , is essential. An understanding of the basics of derivatives and the trade lifecycle is highly desirable, as it will help you contribute to domain-specific testing.
The firm transitioned to building bespoke platforms in-house (rather than relying on off-the-shelf solutions) four years ago, meaning there’s significant Greenfield work and plenty of opportunity to have a direct impact. You’ll be involved in architectural and design decisions , implementing processes, and helping the firm move from manual to automated testing.
Salary & Benefits :
- Up to £100,000 base salary + bonus + benefits
Location :
- Based in London City , with Liverpool Street being the closest station
- Hybrid working : 2 days per week in the office
Tech Stack & Experience :
- Manual & Automation Testing : You will be involved in both manual and automated testing efforts. Experience with Postman , Swagger , JIRA , and XRAY is required.
- Python Testing : A strong focus on Python testing is essential. You should have hands-on experience with Python-based test automation frameworks and experience writing, executing, and maintaining Python test scripts . You’ll work on backend and API testing, leveraging Python to automate processes and ensure quality.
- Testing Methods : Familiarity with a range of testing methods, including smoke , functional , usability , and Python automation testing , is highly beneficial.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manual & Automated Testing : You’ll be directly involved in manual testing and the automation of tests using Python . This will include writing, executing, and maintaining test scripts for both backend and API layers.
- Process Improvement : You’ll help evaluate and improve testing practices across the team, with a focus on enhancing the efficiency of both manual and automation testing . There’s also a strong emphasis on Python-based automation .
- Greenfield Opportunities : Work on innovative projects as the firm moves towards fully automating its testing processes, while still supporting manual testing where appropriate.
