We are working with a well-established facilities management organisation to recruit an experienced

Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team at a prestigious London site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of mechanical building services and ensuring the smooth operation of critical infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, supporting site operations, coordinating specialist contractors and helping to drive continuous improvements across the estate.

Delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical building services.

Monitoring the performance of plant and equipment, identifying opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.

Coordinating and supervising contractors to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and to a high standard.

Investigating mechanical faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.

Supporting the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to reduce disruption to building occupants.

Carrying out routine inspections to ensure assets remain compliant and fully operational.

Maintaining accurate service records, maintenance logs and compliance documentation.

Working closely with facilities teams and client stakeholders to provide technical support and engineering expertise.

Assisting with small works, upgrades and improvement projects across the site.

Previous experience maintaining mechanical building services within a commercial or facilities management environment.

A recognised mechanical qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ, apprenticeship or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, pipework and associated mechanical plant.

Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across a variety of building systems.

Confidence working alongside contractors, suppliers and internal engineering teams.

A solid understanding of planned preventative maintenance principles.
