Business Analyst with strong LNG knowledge, within Energy or Commodities Trading is needed for a commodities & energy trading firm, covering both physicals & derivative trading. With their continued growth and onboarding new products, inline with new regulatory changes, they need a Business Analyst with strong Front office.
This small enterprise company is looking for LNG knowledge to work on the full Project lifecycle covering business requirements analysis, functional specification of changes, testing as required and support of UAT. This is a Business / Front Office-facing Business Analyst role within an Energy Trading environment, so excellent communication skills are required when working with all levels of seniority.
As a Business Analyst on the LNG project, your primary objective is to facilitate the design and implementation of a comprehensive system that consolidates trade lifecycle events, delivering near real-time exposure and position data across multiple energy commodities.
This role will be to lead engagement with stakeholders across multiple Energy Trading desks (LNG, Carbon, Gas & Power etc.) to define and document the scope and design of the platform. You will own delivery from a Business Analyst perspective, managing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations to ensure project deliverables align with strategic goals.
Leading workshops to gather requirements, understanding complex energy trade lifecycle events (from deal capture through to settlement), and aligning expectations with business needs. As a Lead LNG Business Analyst with strong knowledge across both physical LNG and derivatives trading, you will work closely with IT, providing leadership across the functional design and translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
You will partner with Application Support Analysts, Developers, UAT teams and Architects to ensure the platform accurately reflects end-to-end physical LNG workflows (cargo scheduling, nominations, logistics, inventory and settlement) alongside financial trading activities including futures, forwards and options.
