A renowned, funded & profitable challenger bank requires a Lead iOS SME to work on their mobile app. As a business, their offering is a product that provides a flexible checking account with multiple features such as categorising expenses, instant payment notifications, and easy access to financial reports.
Fully integrated with a mobile app, it enables users to adjust account settings, activate or deactivate cards, and set up savings goals directly from their iPhone.
Lead iOS Role: As a Lead iOS Engineer, you will act as the iOS SME within the team, designing and owning the iOS app architecture. You will ensure alignment with core architectural principles, building a robust, scalable architecture that avoids undue complexity and over-coupling, while supporting the organisation's ambition to become a truly data-driven organisation.
Location: London City
Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite per week
Day Rates: Up to £650 per day Outside IR35

Own and lead the design of the iOS app architecture, covering navigation, state management, data layer design, theming, and modularisation. Bring deep expertise in Swift and modern iOS development practices, supported by a strong understanding of architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture. Make sound architectural decisions that enable modularity, scalability, and high performance as the product grows.
Draw on experience leading teams that have built and scaled products from zero users to tens or hundreds of thousands, applying those insights effectively in new environments. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the full iOS application lifecycle, including release management and App Store processes. Work closely with backend, product, and design teams to deliver high-quality, polished native iOS experiences that are reliable, scalable, and user-centric.
