A Data Analyst is sought by a leading utility-backed global energy trading organisation to support a high-impact analytics function embedded across Trading, Operations, and Technology. This Data Analyst role plays a pivotal part in how the business collects, structures, analyses, and interprets market, trading, and operational data to drive informed decision-making, portfolio optimisation, and transparency across the full seaborne energy trade lifecycle.
Acting as a hands‐on data analyst, you will work closely with traders, operators, and technology teams to deliver analysis across small to medium‐sized initiatives, developing data models, dashboards, and analytical outputs that support front‐to‐back trading processes. You will translate complex commercial and operational questions into clear data requirements, interrogate large and diverse datasets, ensure data quality and governance standards are maintained, and produce actionable insights that enable the business to identify trading opportunities, optimise portfolios, manage risk, and enhance security of supply across fast‐moving global energy markets.
The role involves close day‐to‐day collaboration with LNG front‐office traders, providing analytical support on market fundamentals, pricing, freight, and portfolio performance. As a data analyst embedded within the trading environment, you will help transform real‐time and historical data into insights that inform trading strategies, scenario analysis, and commercial decision‐making in a fast‐paced, highly dynamic LNG trading desk.
The company works a hybrid model, with 3 days per week in the office, close to major tube stations, including Liverpool Street.
