Currently we are hiring for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our expanding team in Scotland.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of Electrical design and who wants to be involved in larger projects and help support the development of others around them.

This is a specialised role that will require things to be done that a standard electrician might not be required to do.
Below are some of the things that an electrical design engineer will be required to do.
- Produce electrical drawings and schematics
- Design LV/HV systems
- Carry out load calculations
- Size cables and equipment
- Design protection systems
- Specify transformers, switchgear and other equipment
- Produce technical specifications
You'll be involved in everything from route planning and line profiling to sag and tension calculations, technical drawings and reports, using PLS-CADD and other industry-standard design tools along the way.
You'll also have plenty of interaction with clients, contractors and other engineers, so being able to communicate clearly and work through problems together is just as important as the technical knowledge.
We're looking for someone who has a solid background Design electrical engineering with some longevity regarding experience, with good knowledge of PLS-CADD, line profiling, sag and tension, towers, foundations and conductors.
You'll ideally have a relevant engineering degree or equivalent, and if you're Chartered or working towards chartership that would be ideal.
You will need to have strong hands-on experience as an Electrical Design Engineer and ideally with a background in HV/EHV or power infrastructure.
You'll need to be confident taking ownership of electrical designs, carrying out calculations and seeing projects out start to finish.
