Commodities & Energy Trading House are going through a technology landscape transformation. They are looking for some key Business Analysts for long term engagements to be the link between their front office traders and development.
This Derivatives Front Office Business Analyst role will be focussed on improving and changing the Front Office Derivatives Trading capabilities. You will work with users from across the business and cover functionality across the end-to-end trade lifecycle for Physical and Derivatives trading.
As such, this Derivatives Front Office Business Analyst should have extensive experience with Derivatives trading across any asset class, prior experience working in the front office and communicating with stakeholders such as traders, as well as tech / development teams.
You will work with both front office and middle office users, with direct desk access on the trading floor, gaining exposure across end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical and Derivatives trading. An understanding of American and European Options, Greeks, Futures and Forwards will be crucial.
You will be focused on helping the migration of the Derivatives trading system, which underpins their physical trading systems, across to an ETRM from an in-house legacy build. You will be required to be proactive in engaging with users and working with them in a collaborative and open manner. You must take ownership of creating structured documentation (e.g. backlogs of user stories) and be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
Location of work: Hybrid. 2-3 days from the office, LDN
Expertise: Derivatives Trading experience across any asset class (Energy Trading preferred but not required)
Duties of the Derivatives Front Office Business Analyst:
- Working with the users to identify their needs
- Creating worked examples, mock-ups, test cases or similar to help users understand their requirements and potential solution options
- Performing hands-on system or data analysis to identify changes (e.g. to usage, to configuration or to class-event)
- Able to work in both an Agile and Waterfall methodology
Experience needed for the Derivatives Front Office Business Analyst:
- 5 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst in Trading
- Derivatives Trading experience – Physicals is a bonus as is prior Commodities/Energy Trading
- Understanding of; American and European Options, Greeks, Futures and Forwards
- Front / middle office knowledge; pricing and valuation (P&L, risk exposure, etc.)
