My client are seeking a hands-on Data Manager to join a fast-moving team and architect a scalable, efficient data environment using Azure Databricks, Python, and Power BI — with the ambition to integrate Microsoft Fabric.

This is a technical leadership role, ideally suited to someone who thrives on solving bottlenecks in data workflows, enabling self-serve analytics, and shaping the future of data architecture across the business.

Location – London (Moorgate is the closest station)

Salary – £110,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecting and delivering a modern, enterprise-level data platform.
• Leading a small but capable team of 2.
• Building and optimising pipelines in Azure Databricks using Python.
• Collaborating with Data Analysts, BI teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accessible and actionable.
• Driving the transition toward more flexible and scalable reporting (Power BI, potentially Fabric).
• Reducing reliance on core data engineering for basic data access and analysis — removing bottlenecks and empowering users.

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Python and Azure Databricks.
• Proven ability to design and implement data platform architecture at an enterprise level.
• Proficiency in Power BI; familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is a bonus.
• Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including BI and Data Analysts.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and set best practices within a small data function.
