Data Analyst, Power BI | Investment Management – Trading Platform | London, Hybrid | up to £80k + Bonus, Benefits
A leading global asset manager responsible for assets under management across liability driven investment (LDI), cashflow-driven investing (CDI), longevity hedging, currency management, fixed income, absolute return, multi-asset and specialist investment strategies.
We are looking to add a Data Analyst to our Data Centre of Excellence, comprising Data Analysis, Data Architecture, Data Intelligence and Machine Learning experts. The role supports the Investment Management House in making use of their data to aid investment and risk decisions.
As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for proactively managing aspects of the data acquisition and commercial lifecycle to create P&L impacting value for the investment business. Specifically within compliance, you will gather the data needed from the business to make decisions, bridging the gap between the Business and Data technical experts.
Salary: up to £80,000 + Bonus and Benefits package.
Location: Hybrid model, 3 days per week in the office near major tube stations including Liverpool Street.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse Risk data sourcing, how it flows and is housed within the organisation; map acquisition from primary and secondary sources and maintain data systems.
- Migration of legacy data warehouse to a strategic data platform.
- Identify, collect and migrate data to and from a range of systems into the central Data Platform, working closely with the Data Management Team.
- Analyse normalised transactional and analytic data sources.
- Analyse semi-structured and file-based data extracts.
- Data modelling to transform operational data into analytic/reporting structures such as Kimball style multi-dimensional models.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5 years of Data Analyst experience within a Financial Services environment, emphasizing Risk or cross asset derivatives.
- Experience in data modelling, cleansing and enrichment across conceptual, logical and physical models.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and analytical data structures.
- Data quality assurance, validation and linkage.
- Proficiency in creating BI models and dashboards, ideally in Power BI.
- Knowledge of SQL Server databases.
- Experience with Databricks or an alternative modern data platform such as Snowflake.
- Knowledge of orchestration tools and processes (e.g. SSIS, ODI, Informatica, Data Factory).
- Power BI development including data model, DAX, and visualisations.
- Experience with Agile/Sprints and project management tools such as Jira.
