This Commodities Business Analyst role sits within a commodities & energy trading business, supporting their physical Gas and Power operations. Due to continued growth and increasing demand across Gas and Power products, they are looking to bring in a Business Analyst to support operational change, small enhancements, and BAU activity across Retail and Trading Operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain hands-on exposure within Gas and Power operations, while learning from experienced stakeholders across the business.
As this Commodities Business Analyst, you will work primarily on the operations and scheduling side of physically traded Gas and Power, supporting day-to-day workflows and change initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Front Office Operators, Sales Desks (Retail & Trading), Pricing, Settlements, and other business stakeholders to help ensure smooth operational delivery.
As a Commodities Business Analyst your responsibilities will include supporting operational processes across physical Gas and Power trading, also working alongside senior analysts and operations teams to understand nominations, scheduling, and trade execution. The commodities Business Analyst will be supporting interactions with external parties and market platforms to help ensure compliant trading activity both Inter and Intra-country. This role offers full front-to-back exposure, covering pre-trade, trade capture, operations, settlements, and clearing.
As a Commodities Business Analyst, you’ll build a strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical Gas and Power products while developing your business analysis skillset within a real trading environment.
