A Global Energy and Commodities trading house is seeking a Project Manager to lead a Market Data migration from a legacy system to a new off-the-shelf system. This project incorporates non-technical and technical aspects with a key importance to delivering the project in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
This Market Data Project Manager will take full ownership of this project, ensuring alignment with business and Data strategy, and driving delivery from mobilisation through to completion. This includes defining resourcing strategies, managing budgets and timelines, resolving programme-level risks and issues, and ensuring all projects remain on track against agreed outcomes.
This Project Manager will lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts to maintain momentum with extensive liaising across Front, Middle and Back Office functions.
This Project Manager will work closely with business, Data, and IT stakeholders to define and manage project scope, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the lifecycle. They will provide regular updates, apply a consistent communication strategy, and facilitate Steering Group sessions and executive-level reporting to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
Experience needed for this Senior Data Project Manager:
- Strong delivery leadership across multi-disciplinary teams - including data architects, engineers, analysts, BAs, and SMEs - ensuring coordinated execution throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Expert in project methodologies and tooling, adapting Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall approaches using platforms such as MS Project, Azure DevOps, and Jira to suit project context and organisational needs.
- Deep understanding of technology and data disciplines, including data management, architecture, engineering, analysis, and visualisation, applying them to solve business problems and drive insight-led outcomes.
- Experienced in cross-service change delivery, with desirable exposure to financial/energy markets and working knowledge of the trade lifecycle.
