Manual QA is needed for an organisation in the renewable energy sector that’s looking to bring in an experienced Manual QA Tester to help rebuild and strengthen their testing capability.
The QA Manual Tester is a contract opportunity within a business where QA has historically been very siloed, and the focus is now on creating a more flexible, cross-functional testing team. The role is heavily manual-testing focused. The immediate priority is catching up on quality through robust, hands-on manual testing across multiple systems.
The QA Manual Tester will work in an Agile team, closely with developers to ensure everything released is thoroughly tested, rather than being limited to a single application or domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality manual testing across a range of business-critical systems
- Perform cross-functional testing, moving between systems as priorities change
- Test a mix of vendor releases and bespoke in-house applications
- Support regression testing efforts in an environment with no existing automation pack
- Work closely with developers to validate all releases, not just top-priority items
- Help break down existing QA silos and contribute to building a more cohesive QA function
Ideal background for the Manual QA role:
- Strong background as a manual QA Engineer (automation experience not required)
- Renewable Energy/Energy sector experience preferred, or strong domain understanding to hit the ground running
- Proven experience working across multiple systems, not tied to a single application
- Comfortable testing applications built on a Microsoft stack: C#, SQL, Vue.js
