Virtue Vets is looking for competent, ambitious and entrepreneurial Veterinary Nurses at all levels for our new, premium, state‑of‑the‑art clinics in London. This role should be viewed as an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and try something new and exciting.

Clinics

Our stylish clinics feature a contemporary aesthetic that appeals to both pets and their humans. We are equipped with state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic, surgical, and lab equipment to ensure the highest standard of care. Each site has 3 consult rooms, including a dedicated feline consult. The open‑plan prep feeds an imaging suite, a dental suite, and a sterile surgical theatre. Each clinic has a team room.

The Team

Each site has three vets and a similar number of nurses. The team is exceptional, as the business has been extremely selective about hiring only the best veterinary professionals in London. Each team member is clinically competent and keen on supporting each other in the workplace.

  • Patient assessment & monitoring
  • Anaesthesia & sedation

  • Wound care & bandaging assisting with fracture support
  • Nutritional support – assisted feeding, tube feeding care (NG, oesophageal)
  • Emergency & critical care
  • Infection control – barrier nursing, isolation ward protocols, disinfection

You must love doing the following

  • Mentorship – supporting junior nurses in clinical skills
  • Training – demonstrating and supervising key procedures for less experienced staff
  • Delegation – allocating daily nursing tasks under direction of Head Nurse or Lead Vet
  • Client support – post‑op discharge advice, inpatient updates, basic owner education (nutrition, medication administration)
  • Record keeping – ensuring accurate patient notes and legal compliance (NMC‑style for veterinary context)
  • Stock checks – assisting in ordering/rotation of consumables and pharmacy stock
  • Practice standards compliance – supporting audits, maintaining RCVS standards in day‑to‑day nursing care

People and Protocols

Candidates should have a passion for educating customers about treatment options and preventative care. You must be keen to use structured clinical protocols. Being personable (i.e. good with people) is, of course, essential to achieve all of the above.

Hours and Rota

Clinic hours: 09:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Sunday
Shift pattern: 5 days x 8 hours
Weekend work: 1 in 3 weekends

Salary Banding

RVN salaries - range from £30k to £33k, 0-3 years
Senior VN salaries - range from £33k to £37k, 3-6 years
Head VN salaries - £37k+, 6+ years
