VirtualResource (VR) is a boutique consultancy supporting companies with HR Transformation and optimisation of their HR operating model, processes, and systems. We strive to be the go-to company that partners with businesses to optimise their HR Delivery and HR technology landscape.
We are currently seeking an experienced HR Professional with strong expertise in Bulgarian employment law to support an immediate project requirement. This role is critical in ensuring compliance and smooth execution of both individual and collective consultation processes, alongside the associated HR administration.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide specialist advice on Bulgarian employment law and ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Support individual and collective consultation processes.
- Advise stakeholders on process and ensure process compliance is followed.
- Manage end-to-end consultation workflows, including planning, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure legally compliant and consistent handling of employee relations cases.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality HR documentation aligned with audit and governance standards.
- Support clear, structured communication with employees and representatives throughout the processes.
- Monitor progress of consultation activities and ensure all statutory timelines are met.
- Identify and elevate employment law and reputational risks where appropriate.
As a VR consultant, you will have the flexibility to manage your own day, as long as you meet your set objectives and client demands. The project teams are often a mix of on-site and remote based members who will connect using IM and video calls.
What skills are we looking for?
Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team daily. To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams across Europe, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, and manage senior HR stakeholders. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.
Must have Experience & Skills Required:
- Proven experience working with Bulgarian employment law.
- Strong background in employee relations or HR operations.
- Experience supporting collective and individual consultation processes.
- Fluency in both English and Bulgarian (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, sensitive HR environment.
- Based in Bulgaria or able to travel to client office as required.
- Available for immediate start.
Other Qualifications/Skills that will be beneficial but not mandatory:
- Experience working in a consultancy or project-based HR environment.
- Exposure to multi-country or EMEA employment law frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across senior leadership teams.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation or restructuring programmes.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and reporting tools.
- Project management capability or relevant certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in Europe, so long as you are authorised to work in Europe without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
