About Virtual Pharmacist
Virtual Pharmacist is a leading provider of pharmacy-led virtual clinical services to GP practices, PCNs, and healthcare organisations across the UK. With over 20 years of combined NHS experience, we enable primary care teams to optimise medication management, enhance patient care, and reduce GP workload through dedicated remote clinical pharmacist support.
We are seeking experienced self-employed Clinical Pharmacist contractors to deliver remote clinical services to our clients.
- Location: Remote – UK-based only
- Engagement Type: Self-Employed / Contractor Basis (Not an employed role)
- Contract Length: flexible agreements
- Pay Rate: Up to £30 per hour (negotiable based on experience and scope of services)
- Minimum Commitment: 18 hours per week

Services Provided (Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to):
- Medication reviews to optimise patient safety and treatment efficacy.
- Acute medication request processing and clinical decision-making.
- Reviewing hospital discharge summaries and ensuring medication reconciliation.
- Supporting GP practices with QOF & IIF targets where required.
- Advising on self-limiting conditions, reducing unnecessary GP appointments.
- Contributing to the management of long-term conditions as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Providing medicines optimisation and structured medication reviews.
- Delivering NHS-aligned clinical services in line with national and local healthcare initiatives.
Contractor Requirements
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (Essential)
- Experience in GP Practice / Primary Care (Required)
- Minimum of 2 Years Post-Registration Experience
- Independent Prescriber (Preferred, but not essential)
- Strong Clinical Knowledge – Clinical Diploma preferred but not mandatory
- Proven ability to work independently and manage own caseload
- Competence with IT systems – Familiarity with SystmOne, EMIS, or similar
- Professional indemnity insurance (Contractors must hold their own cover)
