CNC Machinist (Night Shift) required to work for a leading precision engineering organisation making key contributions to the motorsport and Formula 1 industry. This is an excellent opportunity based in West Sussex to join a highly regarded motorsport-focused engineering business, working on complex, high-precision components while benefiting from a competitive hourly rate, shift allowance, and overtime.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components
- Programming, editing, and optimising machining processes using Heidenhain controls
- Machining complex parts using 5-axis CNC machines
- Working with advanced materials, including carbon fibre, for motorsport and F1 applications
- Carrying out quality inspections to ensure components meet tight tolerances and specifications
- Collaborating with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and improve machining processes
- Using offline CAM programming, with a strong preference for Visi / Vero software
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment in line with health and safety standards
Mandatory Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist
- Strong experience in CNC milling and 5-axis machining
- Proficiency in programming and operating machines using Heidenhain controls
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Proven experience with offline CAM programming (Visi / Vero highly preferred)
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality
Desirable Requirements
- Experience machining motorsport or Formula 1 components
- Experience working with carbon fibre or advanced composite materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working night shifts
Additional Information
- Night shift role – 40 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts
- Shift start times between 4:30pm and 8:00am
- Hourly rate: £18–£20 per hour + £5 per hour shift allowance
- 20 days annual leave
- Overtime paid at 1.5x the standard rate
