We are currently representing a very prestigious precision engineering organisation, specialising within the motorsport industry in their search for a skilled CNC Machinist based around Bognor Regis. The role involves working on high-precision projects, focusing on CNC milling, 5-axis machining, and advanced materials such as carbon fibre. The position offers an hourly rate of £18-£22, 20 days annual leave, and overtime paid at 1.5x the standard rate.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines for high-precision component production.
- Program, edit, and optimize machining processes using Heidenhain controls.
- Work with advanced materials like carbon fibre to create components for industries such as motorsport.
- Perform quality checks to ensure components meet strict specifications and tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes.
- Use Visi machining CAM software for offline programming.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC milling and 5-axis machining.
- Proficiency in programming and operating machines using Heidenhain controls.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Experience machining motorsport parts and working with carbon fibre components is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Day-to-day
The role involves working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, for 40 hours per week.
