We're working with a well-established and highly regarded construction and roofing contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join their senior team. The Role
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of construction roofing projects, encompassing both pitched and flat roofing. Your role will involve working closely with the pre-construction and project teams, subcontractors, and various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your strong leadership and operational skills will be instrumental in driving project success and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the pre-construction team to create project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company goals
- Work with internal stakeholders across the business (QS, Estimators, Finance, HR, Contract Managers) to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on time and foster a collaborative team environment
- Efficiently allocate labour, equipment, and materials to project sites, optimising resource utilisation
- Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure that all roofing projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and best practices
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to maximise profitability
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Maintain accurate project records, prepare regular progress reports, and provide updates to senior management

- A natural leader, with proven experience gained within an Operations-focused role within the roofing industry
- Strong understanding of both pitched and flat roofing systems and materials
- In-depth knowledge of project management, quality control, and safety protocols
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
