The predicted salary is between 28000 - 39000 € per year.
Time and a half on Saturday and Sunday. Time and a half for hours worked beyond 37.5 hours per week. Sleeping allowance: £65 per night.
HOURS: Full time and Part time available. Current Shift Patterns: 8am-10pm, 8am - 3pm and 3pm-10pm. With those on shorter shifts doing a sleep in. This is subject to change.

Job Description Purpose of Position
- To provide care and support for all children and young people in our home according to the individual care and support plans provided, and to adhere to our client’s safeguarding procedures, the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and the Ofsted Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) at all times.
- To participate in direct work with children and young people.
- To support, monitor and assess the young person assigned to their care in accordance with the Care Plan and Placement Agreement.
- To ensure the Placement/Support Plan for each child is followed at all times.
- To ensure education is promoted and supported, and that each child’s attendance in education is maintained.
- To ensure health needs are promoted and supported, and that each child attends their appointments.
- To ensure that the children’s views, wishes, and feelings are heard and promoted.
- To ensure that all children in our care are supported to achieve and enjoy.
- To ensure that all children in our care are supported to build or develop positive relationships with their families and significant others.
- To ensure that the young person’s basic care needs are met.
- To maintain contact with the young person’s parents where appropriate, and in consultation with the responsible local authority.
- To ensure that the young person’s personal file is kept up to date with all necessary documentation.
- To keep accurate records of contact with the young person, their family, and involved professionals.
- To produce weekly reports on work with young people and provide reports for meetings as required.
- To maintain appropriate links with the community in which the young person is placed.
- To work collaboratively with other professionals, responding to the needs of young people and meeting statutory requirements.
- To notify our client’s management team of any concerns relating to a placement.
- To be contactable at all times while on duty.
- To participate in regular team meetings.
- To participate in regular supervision sessions.
- To take part in any formal or informal training as deemed necessary by the line manager or supervisor.
- To attend formal/statutory meetings as required.
- To keep accurate records of any incidents.
- To be prepared to deal with emergencies and take appropriate action, ensuring the safety and welfare of the young person and other members of our client’s team.
- Any serious accidents, emergencies or risks must be reported to management.
- To be familiar with our client’s health and safety policies and promote safe working practices in full compliance with procedures.
- To inform managers of any problems or difficulties relating to the service provided to young people.
- To report and record any accidents or incidents, no matter how minor, whether involving the service user or staff member.
- To share any ideas with managers that may enhance or improve the level of service provided.
- To participate in induction, foundation training, and regular in-service training programmes as directed by the manager.
- To carry out other reasonable duties as required.
- To work within the framework of all our client’s policies and procedures.
Requirements Professional Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people.
- Ability to approach and engage young people in positive activities.
- Minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy skills.
Evidence: Application form, References, Certificates (for Literacy/Numeracy).
Knowledge
- Understanding of young people’s issues.
- Awareness of Health & Safety issues.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Recent experience engaging and working with young people.
- Experience developing and delivering activity programmes.
- NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work.
- Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work or equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake qualifications and ongoing development.
- Full driving licence.
