Job Summary
Elliot Thomas Consulting are partnered with a fast-growing design and build main contractor to find an experienced QS to join their commercial team.
They’re the single point of responsibility on every job. They take schemes from feasibility and planning through groundworks, structures and fit-out, then handle long-term maintenance.
That means you’ll see the full commercial picture on every project, not just your slice of it working on with sports and leisure, hospitality, workplace, retail and education schemes.
The role:
- Leading the commercial side of design and build projects from tender handover to final account
- Owning cost reports, valuations, CVRs and cash flow forecasts
- Procuring and managing packages across groundworks, steelwork, specialist structures and fit-out
- Handling variations and contractual correspondence (JCT D&B / NEC)
- Supporting estimating at pre-construction and protecting cost certainty for clients
- Mentoring junior QSs as the team grows
What they’re looking for:
- Senior QS experience with a main contractor, ideally in design and build
- Comfortable working across varied, fast-moving projects rather than one big scheme
- Strong JCT knowledge, with NEC a bonus
- Confidence with clients, supply chain and site teams
- QS or Commercial Management degree, with MRICS welcome but not essential
What’s on offer:
- £55,000-£65,000 starting salary + company package (includes car allowance).
- Hybrid & Flexible working
- Clear pathway through to Commercial Management
- No Parking cost
