Risk Manager

Job Summary

We are partnering with a leading international events and media organisation to recruit a Risk & Compliance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected business with a global portfolio of conferences, awards programmes, exhibitions and live events. Working across multiple international markets, you will play a key role in ensuring effective risk management, compliance, governance and health & safety processes are embedded across the organisation. Reporting into senior leadership, you will work closely with operational, legal and event teams to support the successful planning and delivery of events while protecting the organisation from operational, regulatory and reputational risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of risk management and compliance processes across the business.
• Manage and maintain organisational risk registers and reporting frameworks.
• Support the identification, assessment and mitigation of operational risks.
• Oversee event risk assessments and health & safety compliance activities.
• Ensure appropriate governance and compliance processes are in place across international events and business operations.
• Coordinate insurance requirements and support claims management where required.
• Work with internal stakeholders to promote a proactive risk-aware culture.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance obligations are met.
• Provide risk and compliance reporting to senior management.
• Support business continuity and incident management planning.

We are looking for an experienced risk, compliance or health & safety professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Essential Experience

• Experience managing risk, compliance or governance activities within a commercial organisation.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and operational risk management.
• Experience conducting and reviewing risk assessments.
• NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and engage with teams across multiple functions.
• Strong organisational and reporting capabilities.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within events, exhibitions, conferences, media, hospitality or related sectors.
• IOSH qualification.
• Exposure to international operations and compliance requirements.
• Insurance and claims management experience.
