CNC Machinist (5 Axis Milling) needed to start work immediately in Leeds and Rotherham, South Yorkshire. We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join a modern, precision engineering environment, working with advanced 5-axis CNC milling technology. This is not a standard operator role. You will play a key part in programming, setting, and optimising machining processes, producing complex, high-precision components for demanding industries such as aerospace, motorsport, and advanced manufacturing. Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate 5‑axis CNC milling machines
- Create and optimise programs using CAM software or G‑code
- Refine toolpaths, speeds, and feeds to maximise efficiency and accuracy
- Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies
- Work to tight tolerances on complex, precision components
- Carry out in‑process and final inspection using precision measurement tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements
- Support efficient, reliable production, including automated or lights‑out machining
What We’re Looking For
- Proven hands‑on experience with 5‑axis CNC milling
- Strong ability in CNC programming (CAM systems or G‑code editing)
- Experience setting and operating machines independently
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances
- Familiarity with materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, or similar alloys
- Experience with DMG, Matsuura, or Brother machines
- Familiarity with Fusion 360, SolidCAM, HyperMill, or similar CAM software
- Experience with palletised or automated machining systems
- Background in aerospace, motorsport, or high‑spec manufacturing
