Role Objectives

  • Develop software that meets user needs
  • Follow and improve engineering best practices
  • Write clean, secure, and well-tested code
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues
  • Collaborate within Agile teams to continuously improve products and outcomes

Ways of Working

  • Experience working within Agile teams
  • Experience contributing to product development informed by user research, observation, and experimentation
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary DevOps teams (including Product Owners/Managers, UX Designers, Researchers, Developers, Platform Engineers)
  • Experience working within continuous integration environments

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong React experience
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • Unit and End-to-End testing experience (e.g. Jest, NightwatchJS or similar)
  • Experience building to AA accessibility standards
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Cross-browser development experience (e.g. Chrome, Edge)
  • Strong understanding of performance optimisation

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with UK Government or public sector organisations
  • AWS experience
  • Experience building component libraries
  • Understanding of security principles
  • Experience designing for scalability and reusability
  • Appreciation for UX best practice

Security Clearance Requirement

Due to the nature of government client work, candidates must:

  • Be eligible for Security Clearance (SC)
  • Have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5+ years
