Residential Care Practitioner Derby - DE22

£37,275.89 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in payments). Salary increase following successful completion of a 6-month probation period.

Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of a respected children's residential care provider in Derby for multiple Residential Care Practitioner positions across three children's residential homes. If you are passionate about supporting children and young people and have experience within residential childcare or youth work, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children and young people within a residential setting.
  • Build positive relationships and provide a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and personal development.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to team meetings.
Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in Children's Residential Care or Youth Work.
  • Experience supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualification in line with children's residential care regulations.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.
Working Pattern:
  • 3-week rolling rota.
  • Average of 10 shifts per month.
  • Shift pattern: 08:00 – 23:00, sleep-in, followed by handover 08:00 – 08:30 the following day.
  • Average monthly hours: 244.5 hours, including training and team meetings.
  • Annual leave entitlement: 360 hours.
