We are recruiting on behalf of a construction services business for an experienced Finance Manager to support the Finance Director and lead the day-to‑day finance function. Immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the finance team.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts and departmental reporting.
- Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
- Oversee weekly payroll, client invoicing and supplier payments.
- Ensure VAT, PAYE, CIS and Corporation Tax obligations are processed accurately and on time.
- Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow and the invoice discounting facility.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Assist with year‑end accounts and external audits.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, including the company vehicle fleet, and hire purchase schedules.
- Support the Finance Director with process improvements and internal controls.
About You
- At least two years' experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and developing a finance team.
- Strong experience producing monthly management accounts and managing month‑end/year‑end close.
- Confident overseeing VAT, PAYE and CIS compliance.
- Strong cash flow, budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills; Sage accounting software experience is advantageous.
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, part‑qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
