Job Summary
Midweight Interior Designer Bath, Somerset £34,000 – £42,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Benefits Full-time, predominantly studio-based Modus Careers is recruiting on behalf of a growing workplace design and build studio that is quietly becoming one of the most exciting names in the commercial interiors space. This is not a corporate machine churning out generic office schemes. Our client creates workplaces with personality, energy and purpose. Spaces that genuinely reflect the people who use them. Their projects range from fast-moving fit-outs to large-scale refurbishments, working with ambitious brands across the UK who want more from their environments than rows of desks and breakout furniture.
They are now looking for a Midweight Interior Designer to join their Bath studio as part of a carefully planned growth phase. The opportunity here is genuine. You will join a highly collaborative creative team where design has a real voice within the business. You will be trusted with ownership, client exposure and the opportunity to influence projects from early concept through to delivery, rather than sitting in a silo producing isolated packages. For designers who enjoy both the creative and technical side of workplace interiors, this role offers a rare balance. You will work on projects that move quickly, challenge you commercially and allow you to develop under experienced senior creatives, while also mentoring more junior members of the team as the studio continues to grow.
The environment itself is ambitious, social and highly collaborative. This is a studio that believes the best ideas happen in person, with the design team predominantly working together from their Bath HQ alongside regular client meetings and site visits. They are particularly interested in designers who are naturally curious, commercially aware and confident in presenting ideas. People who genuinely enjoy workplace design and understand how good environments can influence culture, productivity and experience.
What they’re looking for:
- About 3+ years’ experience in the workplace or commercial interior design
- Experience working on office fit-out or workplace refurbishment projects
- Strong concept and presentation ability
- Confidence presenting ideas to clients and internal teams
- A good understanding of technical design and project delivery
- Revit experience, or a strong willingness to develop within Revit
- Strong spatial awareness and material knowledge
- The ability to thrive within a fast-paced design and build environment
- A collaborative, positive and proactive mindset
What’s on offer:
Beyond the projects and studio culture, our client has put real thought into creating an environment where designers can genuinely develop their careers long term. The package includes:
- £34,000 – £42,000 salary depending on experience
- Quarterly bonus scheme
- Clear progression opportunities
- Structured mentoring from Senior Designers and Creative Leads
- Ongoing Revit training and support from an in-house BIM Manager
- Investment in CPD, industry events and continued professional development
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery
- The opportunity to work closely with clients and develop presentation confidence
- A highly collaborative studio culture with daily interaction across the design team
- Real responsibility and ownership on projects, not just production support
- The chance to mentor junior team members as you progress
- National project exposure across a wide variety of workplace environments
- A growing business with a long-term sustainable growth plan
- A social and ambitious team culture centred around collaboration and creativity
- Predominantly office-based working in their Bath studio, with flexibility available when needed
- Site visits and client exposure across the UK
Most importantly, this is a business that genuinely values attitude, creativity and potential, not just years of experience. They are looking for designers who want to build a career, not simply move jobs.
