An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a new 3-bed OFSTED‑registered children's home in Leicester. We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager with strong values to oversee the service from its opening. The home will support children and young people aged 8-17 with learning disabilities and emotional/behavioural needs, providing a warm, therapeutic, and empowering environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive, personalised outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who wants to shape a new service from the ground up and be instrumental in embedding high standards of care, safeguarding, and operational excellence.
The Role
- Lead and manage a therapeutic, child‑centred residential service
- Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Embed a strong safeguarding culture and manage risk effectively
- Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop a skilled and committed staff team
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations including budgets, rotas, and resources
- Build positive relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals
- Drive continuous improvement and uphold the home’s Statement of Purpose
- Create a stable, nurturing environment where young people can thrive
About You
You will be an experienced leader within children’s residential care who brings strong values, resilience, and a genuine passion for improving young people’s lives.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience managing children’s residential homes
- Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting young people aged 8-17 with learning disabilities and/or EBD
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Workforce
- QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Children’s Services (or willingness to work towards)
- Full UK driving licence
