About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a well‐established children's residential home in Blaenau Gwent. You will oversee all aspects of the service, ensuring high‐quality, trauma‐informed care for young people with complex needs, including autism, EBD and those at risk of CSE.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high‐quality, child‐centred residential care.
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, RISCA and inspection frameworks.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Officer and oversee all safeguarding practices.
  • Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision and development.
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect and restorative practice.
  • Oversee care planning, key working and behaviour management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage reporting for reviews and inspections.
  • Manage budgets, petty cash and financial documentation.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across the home.
  • Support a homely, inclusive and emotionally supportive environment.

Essential requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children's Residential) or equivalent.
  • Registered with Social Care Wales and DBS Update Service (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years' management experience in a children's home.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, RISCA and HR procedures.
  • Experience working with autism, EBD, CSE and mental health needs.
