Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Bangor who due to continued growth, an opportunity has risen for a forward thinking and ambitious Chartered Accountant or Tax Specialist/Adviser to join their team.

Working under the guidance of the Financial Director you will work alongside the Technical Consultants to collate and prepare financial reports that support the client\’s claims for submission to HMRC.

You will work closely with the client visiting their premises from time to time to help you understand their unique operation/situation, you\’ll liaise with the client\’s Accountant to obtain and collate relevant information including Corporation Tax computations and Annual Returns, this will help you prepare bona-fide claims.

The successful candidate will need to hold FCA, ACA, CTA or ATT qualifications and have good commercial / business acumen. You should have a sound understanding of HMRC\’s guidelines on R&D (and preferably of the Irish Revenue\’s guidelines) together with Capital Allowances.

You will be a confident communicator and be comfortable liaising with HMRC and Revenue on behalf of clients. You will have at least 5 year\’s accounts / finance experience and be competent in analysing business accounts and using accountancy software. Full training will be provided.

Duties

Manage a portfolio of limited companies

Build and develop client relationships

Working closely with clients to fully understand their trading position and how best to leverage costs associated with research and development and capital allowances.

Promote and foster excellent professional relationship with the network of accounting practises

Liaising with HMRC regarding submitted claims

Maintaining and Improving own knowledge of relevant legislation and changing tax practises in the UK and Ireland.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an FCA, ACA, ACCA, CTA or ATT (or equivalent) with at least 5 years\’ experience

Sector experience desirable but not essential – full training given

Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Part-time availability will also be considered.

Salary/ Package

The salary and package are open to negotiation and will be commensurate on experience
