Brook Street Social Care is seeking a reliable, dynamic, and caring Support Worker to cover maternity period of up to 10 months to provide one-to-one support to a vibrant and fun-loving young adult with complex needs, based in the Mellor area of Stockport. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a small, dedicated care team making a genuine impact in someone's life - both at home and out in the community.

About The Individual

You’ll be supporting a young person who lives life to the fullest! Their hobbies include:

  • Drumming & rock music
  • Trips to the cinema & love for the Marvel Universe
  • Video gaming sessions
  • Skiing, football, and attending football matches

Each day is different, and your support will help them experience it all with confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting personal care and manual handling
  • Driving the client’s adapted vehicle (clean UK licence essential)
  • Facilitating college work and therapy sessions
  • Assisting with community activities and outings
  • Following client-specific training and support plans

SHIFT DETAILS

You’ll be required to work 3-4 shifts per week, on a rotating basis.

Current Shift Pattern

Mon - Wed: 7am - 5pm
Thu - Sat: 10am - 8pm

PAY & CONTRACT

Weekday Rate: £14.69/hr
Weekend Rate: £15.91/hr
Minimum 30 hours/week (with extra hours available)
Annual Salary: £22,916.40+ (based on minimum contracted hours)

Essential Requirements

  • Flexibility and availability across shift patterns
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Full clean UK driving licence and confidence driving along rural roads
  • Physically able to deliver personal care and manual handling
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build positive rapport and support therapeutic engagement

Preferred Experience

  • Background in personal care and social care
  • Health & Social Care qualifications (or working towards them)
