Brook Street are currently recruiting for 30 Customer Service Advisors, Executive Officer level, to work for the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA), based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Temporary Public Sector Customer Service Advisor Roles – Executive Officer level – suitable for someone with an excellent telephone manner and empathetic nature and a passion for providing excellent customer service.

Job Details

Location: Newcastle – Benton Park View, NE98 1YX

Start Date: 13th October and 20th October

Duration: 3 Month Temporary Assignment with possible extension

Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday (37 hours per week)

Job Type: Office based

Pay Rate: £15.86

Parking: Available on site

Job Description

  • Providing excellent customer service when handling enquiries
  • Administrative duties – guiding people online and updating records
  • First point of contact for IBAC – guiding through the registration process for their intent to claim compensation
  • Listening empathetically and actively
  • Balancing professionalism and compassion

You\’ll be supported with wellbeing resources and a strong team culture. You will have access to:

Essential Skills & Qualities

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • A high standard of written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathy, patience and resilience when dealing with emotionally charged conversations

  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to pass basic DBS check
  • Full right to work
  • Desirable – previous experience of working with vulnerable clients

The IBCA exists to deliver compensation to those infected with HIV, Hepatitis B or C through contaminated blood products, and to those affected by their suffering. The Authority\’s mission is to provide recognition, justice, and financial redress after decades of delay.
