Job Description – Medico-Legal Report Typist (Orthopaedics)
Virtual Admin UK has provided medico-legal and administrative support to consultants, solicitors, and medical professionals since 2016. We specialise in report preparation, clinic management, document formatting, and remote admin support.
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced medico-legal report typist to join us on a self-employed, remote basis. You will be responsible for typing orthopaedic medico-legal reports from audio dictation , using structured templates and clinical forms.
Please Note: This is not a basic “type what you hear” position — you must be able to interpret structured content, apply correct grammar and formatting, and think independently to produce high-quality reports.
Essential Requirements (Do Not Apply Unless You Meet These)
- Minimum 2 years\’ audio typing experience in a medico-legal or orthopaedic setting
- Strong knowledge of orthopaedic and medico-legal terminology
- Advanced MS Word skills , including use of templates, styles, headers/footers, and tables
- Fluent, accurate transcription using your own digital dictation software
- Excellent grammar and written English
- High attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- Must be UK-based and available between 9:00am and 5:00pm
- Must not use an Apple Mac (not compatible with our systems)
Additional Details
- Self-employed basis , paid per report (not hourly)
- Part-time and ad hoc work assigned as needed (this position would suit someone already working in this type of position and looking for additional work).
- Fully remote (UK only)
