b Overview /b p In this role you will lead the design and execution of an AI-enabled risk assurance framework to strengthen controls, compliance, and risk management. You’ll work across audits from scoping to final reporting, performing tests, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews to identify issues and drive sustainable remediation. You will own the AI-powered risk assurance platform and partner with the Transformation team on third-party tools. Based in Avonmouth with hybrid working, you’ll help Viridor scale its risk practices within a leading UK Energy from Waste portfolio. This is a hands-on, impact-oriented opportunity to shape governance, analytics, and assurance at scale. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Design, implement, and execute risk assurance framework using AI-driven platforms /li li Conduct end-to-end audits from scoping through final report /li li Perform control testing, process walkthroughs, data analysis and stakeholder interviews /li li Draft evidence-based findings and agree actions with control owners /li li Retest remediation actions and validate sustainable closure /li li Serve as subject matter expert for AI-powered risk assurance tools /li li Extract and analyse data anomalies to identify systemic risk trends /li li Evaluate and upgrade third-party risk management software and AI tools /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Governance, risk management and internal control frameworks /li li Internal audit methodologies and professional standards /li li Risk assessment and assurance techniques /li li Regulatory and compliance requirements /li li Proven experience in Internal Audit, Risk Assurance or related functions /li li Experience leading complex audits and managing multiple assignments /li li Experience presenting findings to senior stakeholders /li li Experience managing or supervising audit teams /li li Experience auditing automated controls, RPA or ML models /li li Degree level qualification or equivalent /li li Professional qualification /li li Membership of relevant professional bodies /li /ul ul li Stakeholder management and influencing skills /li li Strong analytical and problem-solving capability /li li Effective written and verbal communication /li li Data analytics and audit technology knowledge /li li Audit planning, execution and reporting /li li Proven hands-on experience with risk assurance technology, GRC software, or AI-enabled analytics platforms /li /ul
