Overview
As Engineering & Capex Finance Business Partner, you will drive capital planning and long-term lifecycle investments for the ERF fleet.
You’ll partner with Engineering, Operations and Finance to turn technical investment plans into robust financial models and to prioritize capital projects.
You will provide insightful governance, challenge senior stakeholders, and support executive decisions with crisp, board-ready analyses.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and finance, enabling value-driven capital allocation in a climate-positive business.

Responsibilities
- Lead annual group capex budgeting and lifecycle investment papers for the ERF fleet
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly capex forecasts with site Finance BPs; provide visibility of spend and forecast outturn
- Own the group’s long-term lifecycle investment plan for ERF fleet; translate plans into 5, 10, 20-year financial models
- Act as principal Finance BP for Engineering; build relationships with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement and site leadership
- Develop and review business cases for major capital projects; perform NPV, IRR, payback and sensitivity analyses
- Lead post-investment appraisal and track benefits against approved business cases
- Prepare high-quality investment reporting for Executive Leadership, Investment Committee and Board; monitor budgets and governance
- Key requirements
- Strong Finance Business Partnering and management accounting experience
- Capital-intensive industry experience
- Proven experience developing and managing capital budgets and forecasts
- Commercial and business analysis capability
- Excellent stakeholder management with finance and non-finance groups
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills to senior audiences
- Advanced Excel and Power Point; experience with integrated accounting and reporting systems
- Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to influence and support decision making
- Organisational and prioritisation skills; attention to detail; ability to produce C-suite-ready outputs
